Foleys Celebrate 70 Years of Business - 1st Apr 2004

The corks were popping and the bubbly was flowing today as one of Dunedin's oldest plumbing firms celebrated its own success and longevity. The imagination fired up images of the original founder, Albert Foley, setting astride his bike to make his first call out in Mornington, Dunedin in 1934. History doesn't record whether it was a blocked drain or a troublesome ‘s' bend, but the present is testimony to the future that Albert Foley was to precipitate. 70 years on Foleys workforce of more than seventy staff have a reputation for excellence that has spread as far a field as Russia, where they were recently asked to quote for a plumbing job on a shopping mall construction.
