Coordinated services delivery for Dunedin Hospital Outpatients
Foleys delivered the plumbing, drainage, and civil works packages for the Dunedin Hospital Outpatients building, working alongside Southbase through a 30-month construction programme.
The five-storey healthcare facility formed part of the wider Dunedin Hospital redevelopment and required coordinated delivery across multiple services and project stages.
Following project award, Foleys identified potential supply chain and material escalation risks associated with the post-COVID construction market. Key materials were procured early and stored locally to secure supply, reduce programme risk, and provide greater cost certainty throughout delivery.
Drawing on lessons from previous large-scale healthcare and education projects, Foleys prioritised early installation of major service routes to maintain productivity and reduce congestion as construction progressed. This approach enabled works to advance efficiently within heavily serviced ceiling spaces and coordinated construction zones.
By securing materials early, maintaining resource continuity, and prioritising installation sequencing, Foleys supported the successful delivery of one of Dunedin’s most significant healthcare projects.
