Integrated plumbing, drainage and process services for Skellerup’s Christchurch facility
Skellerup, a Christchurch-based manufacturer of industrial and agricultural rubber products, undertook a major redevelopment of its manufacturing facilities to modernise operations and improve production efficiency. The project included the construction of a new distribution centre, moulding and industrial halls, office spaces, and supporting civil works across an 18,900 m² site.
Working alongside principal contractor Calder Stewart and other subcontractors, Foleys delivered the design and installation of plumbing, drainage, gasfitting, and process services for the base build. This included systems for sewer, stormwater, trade waste, potable water, and fire main reticulation, along with process services such as compressed air and vacuum pipework to support manufacturing operations.
The scale and complexity of the facility required careful coordination with other trades and detailed design development to ensure services were integrated efficiently throughout the building. Early engagement allowed Foleys to work closely with project partners to refine layouts and support the operational needs of the site.
The result is a modern, purpose-built manufacturing facility that improves production capability and operational efficiency while supporting Skellerup’s long-term growth.
